My baby one year ago and my baby now.

Yeah so I know I am the worst blogger of all time. I also have to keep our school web page updated so I really have not gotten to do the fun blogging of my own stuff. Oh well. So my baby turned one and I still haven't blogged about it so here it is. Keagen turned one on January 7th and I still haven't figured out where this past year went. I blinked and it was gone. So he is not walking yet but walks on his knees. It is the strangest thing because it takes him longer and requires more balance but that is his mode of transportation none the less. I have caught him walking when no one is around and have seen him take 5 or 6 steps but as soon as he sees you he drops to his knees and goes, "no no mama no no." So I think he is just being a punk and likes dirty pants. As I was uploading these pictures I just can't believe that a whole year has gone by so quickly. I rememer just bringing him home and those sleepless nights and his first bath and all those other wonderful things and now he is a toddler. Soon I will be blogging about my baby going to school and getting his drivers license and all that. Ok so I am getting a little weepy now so I am ending this blog on a happy note. A huge Happy First Birthday Keagen--your Mommy LOVES you so much!!!

Catching up on blogging

What a week--I just realized I haven't posted anything in forever so I thought I would catch up quick. Last weekend I had my plans to go to Chicago shopping then of course Keagen gets sick( I know they plan that) so I of course decide to cancel going. Well we went to the dr on Thur and he had an ear infection and suspected something with his throat like maybe strep but since he was going on meds for the ears it didn't pay to run the throat culture. Thurs night he slept zilch. He screamed all night so I called to cancel. Well I could not get the money back for the trip but I figured it was not that big of a deal. Anyway Friday he slept all day and Saturday he woke up all fine and dandy so I ended up going to Chicago. It was fun but way to rich for my budget. I like I know you 2 are 2 outlet mall kind of girls. Monday I had parent teacher conferences and now it is Tues. Some of the kids are just about driving me over the edge so I am relieved to have a few days. They very much need it too. Ok that's my life over the past week. I will blog about the stupid guys in the bar we went to in Chicago later on.

Keagen the Crazy Sleeper

Since Daylights Savings time has thrown Keagen right off of his sleep. He wants to go to bed by 6:00 because he normally was all ready to be in bed by 7. Well I have been fighting to keep him up until at least 7 so he isn't up super early. Anyway last night he fell asleep at quarter to 6 and I got his pajamas on and he barely woke up. I put him in bed and decided to be in bed by 9 cause I figured he would be up early and decide he would be all done sleeping. He finally woke up around 6 cause he heard me get up and start getting ready. He even took a 2 1/2 hour nap yesterday. He must be growing again because all he wants to do is eat and sleep. I however did not sleep well last night because I was having horrible nightmares. I kept dreaming that Keagen was really little and everytime I looked at him he was not breathing. I kept doing CPR on him and he would start gasping but for some reason we never took him to the hospital and it kept happening. Everytime I would wake up shaking and when I would go back to sleep I would go right back into the nightmare again. It was aweful and I kept trying to stay awake so that it wouldn't keep happening but it did anyway. At least Keagen got a good nights sleep.

Halloween 2008-Mommy's Little Skunk

Yes it is almost a week since Halloween but I am finally posting about it. Keagen was a skunk--and if I do say so myself the cutest skunk I have ever seen. Of course as soon as I got the costume on him he went and pooped so he also smelled like a little skunk. Anyway, we went to all the Grandparents and Great Grandparents during the day so that they could all see him. Then we went over to Rohde's to go trick or treating. He had a lot of fun riding in the wagon with his little angel friend and comparing their loot. Keagen and Kristen only went to a few houses but they were thrilled with the candy they got. They were hilarious comparing their treasures and jabbering back and forth which no one else but them could understand. He even broke into a few pieces. After trick or treating we went back to the Rohde's and actually got them all to sit for a few quick pictures. Then we celebrated Kristen's Birthday Party--Happy Birthday Kristen!!

The Deer Slayer

SO what a way to start to my day. I dropped Keagen off at Grandma and Papa's today since they are going to town they offered to drop him off at Grandma's house for us. I forgot my phone so I run home to get it and then on the way to work I hit a deer. Actually the deer hit me but the damage is none the less still there. I looked to the side and then looked back forward and caught it out the side of my eye and there it was smack right into my car. It flew way up in the air and back into the ditch. Papa went to make sure it was dead(remember my fear of dead animals) and came to work to tell me that I killed it and it was just "a little guy"--yeah so I killed Bambi on the way to work today. My car has deer hair and poo all over the side and the front quarter panel is all smashed in. It is at least still driveable and nothing is leaking. Ahh one would think it is a Monday morning today.

Eric Church concert

I am so excited that this is going to be a short week. No school on Thursday or Friday-I have to work on Thursday but it is a planning day so no kids. Today we are playing Bingo with the seniors who come for "old people lunch" and tomorrow we are gong to the pumpkin patch since it was rainy on Friday. Tuesday night I am in charge of the Family Night at school and then Wednesday we have our Harvest Party. The week is going to fly by. So Sat Keagen had his first sleepover that wasn't at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I was really nervous but he of course was just fine. He had a great time chasing Sam the cat around and playing with Mickenzee. We went to Wings and Rings for supper and then to the Eric Church concert. I must be getting really old cause I kept thinking--whoa it's like 10:00 and they haven't even started yet--I am getting really tired. The opening band started at like quarter to ten and they were ok. Then Eric didn't play until like 11:00 or it may have been even later. It was a very good show though--really loud(see I am getting old-I think music can be too loud). We had a lot of fun. I think I have more fun watching the weird people anyway. There were a lot of "cowboys" there. There was one who thought he was God's gift to all women and yeah not even cute. Him and the girl he was with was like watching porn out on the dance floor. It was very humorous. Here are some of the pictures from the night. Needless to say it was a good time but Sunday we were both very tired.

Weekend at the Benz house

Yes it is Tuesday night and I am finally getting around to blogging about my weekend. Plus I just moved my computer back upstairs. It was residing on our bedroom floor since we got our carpets cleaned this summer. I have now turned our spare room/scrapbookroom/computer room into my office so I can work on Special Olympics stuff and school stuff. Now that I have a desk again I may be able to get on the computer and actually blog a little easier. However my computer at home is the slowest thing on Earth. Anyway. See my blogs are my rambling thoughts coming straight out--it is a wonder I ever get anything done when I look at my thought process as it spills out. Wait back to my point--my weekend. Friday I took off of work and stayed home with a sick little boy. He didn't act sick but he was none the less. We went to see our favorite doctor in the whole wide world and she said he did have a viral infection but of course since it is viral they can do nothing about it. As long as I was there though she also did his 9 month check up for me. He weighs 21.7 lbs. I can't believe he is growing so fast. When she checked in his diaper to make sure all of his "boy parts" are doing good he got this hilarious smirk on his face and then gives her this huge smile with a little giggle. He is such a boy! She said he is doing great! So Saturday Keags and I went shopping and got some stuff done around the house and then Sun him and I went to church. My kids had to sing. After that Suzie told me that the dollar store had zoo cups and plates and stuff so Keag and I went over there and got all of that good stuff for his birthday party. I can not believe it is less than 3 months away. Overall pretty boring weekend but it was actually pretty nice to do nothing for a change. Next weekend we are going to the Eric Church concert at Bullshooters with Blood and his girlfriend.
